In his remarks, Wei Jia noted that as a megacity in the Yangtze River Delta and a key node on the Yangtze River Economic Belt, Nanjing links east and west and connects north and south — making it a strategic location for Yuhu Cold Chain's push into the East China market. Drawing on an internationally benchmarked, smart cold chain park and an Online-Merge-Offline (OMO) trading model, the Nanjing site will build an end-to-end cold chain service system spanning trade display, cold chain warehousing, processing and distribution, and supply chain finance — helping establish Nanjing as a core hub for the Yangtze River Delta's cold chain food supply chain.

The Nanjing site is Yuhu Cold Chain's first high-standard, digitally intelligent cold chain trading centre in its East China layout. Since preparations began, it has received strong support from Jiangsu Province, Nanjing City, and Qixia District at every level of government, and has been designated a Provincial and Municipal Key Project. Comprehensive policy support — spanning planning approvals, resource guarantees, and business environment improvements — has provided a solid foundation for the project's rapid, high-quality progress.

Government-Enterprise Collaboration Drives “Nanjing Acceleration”
On 8 March this year, a delegation led by Nanjing Mayor Li Zhongjun visited the headquarters of Yuhu Group (Hong Kong) to deepen Nanjing-Hong Kong economic and trade cooperation, pledging to continue building the city's “Ning Manyi” (“Nanjing Satisfaction”) service brand and to provide comprehensive, tailored services covering subsidy applications, project support, surrounding transport arrangements, and utility connections. From Chairman Huang Xiangmo's first visit to Nanjing in September 2024 to today's opening of the Lease & BD Centre — just 22 months. Signing, land acquisition, and construction all took place within the same year — a pace of government-enterprise collaboration that has come to be known as “Nanjing Acceleration,” capturing not just the speed of delivery but how quickly that pace has continued to build.September 2024: Huang Xiangmo, Chairman of Yuhu Group (Hong Kong), was invited to Nanjing for his first round of talks.
December 2024: The two sides formally signed a letter of intent for cooperation.February 2025: The agreement was formally signed at the “Nanjing Meets Hong Kong, Building the Future Together” conference on expanding Nanjing's services sector and Nanjing-Hong Kong economic and trade cooperation.
June 2025: The project land was listed for transfer; the transaction was completed in July.
October 2025: Construction officially broke ground.
July 2026: The Lease & BD Centre opened.
Strong Market Response as Quality Merchants Converge
The opening of the Lease & BD Centre drew an immediate, positive response from the market. In the days since, the Nanjing site's strong location and transport advantages, combined with the reach of Yuhu Cold Chain's national network, have attracted multiple rounds of site visits from well-established merchants across the Yangtze River Delta and beyond, with several leading enterprises reaching preliminary agreements to cooperate. Merchants widely cited Nanjing's reach as a Yangtze River Delta megacity, and the site's end-to-end service capabilities — spanning digital and intelligent cold chain warehousing, trade display, and supply chain finance — as key draws.

As leasing and business development efforts continue to expand, the Nanjing site is rapidly bringing together quality industry resources and refining its business mix, injecting new momentum into cold chain food distribution across the Yangtze River Delta. Once fully built, the site will become a major cold chain food distribution and supply chain service hub for the region. Through digital, standardised, and intensive operations, it will unlock new quality productive forces for the cold chain industry, opening a two-way channel that brings premium ingredients from around the world into China while helping specialty agricultural products from Jiangsu and the Yangtze River Delta go global.

Forward-Looking Layout Builds a New Model for Smart Cold Chain Logistics
As a National Landmark Major Foreign-Funded Project, Yuhu Cold Chain (Nanjing) Trading Centre is a model example of deep Hong Kong-invested participation in China's dual circulation strategy. It is more than a modern cold chain logistics facility — it is a key hub connecting international and domestic markets and resources. Drawing on the global sourcing network of Yuhu Group (Hong Kong), the site links premium ingredient-producing regions worldwide on one end with China's end-consumer market on the other, accelerating a two-way flow of ingredients that both buys and sells globally. This will provide solid support for Nanjing's development as an international consumption centre city and a national logistics hub city.
Alongside its investment in high-standard, digital and intelligent cold chain infrastructure, Yuhu Cold Chain is embracing the low-altitude economy and new trends in smart logistics. Looking ahead, the Nanjing site will open up scenarios for drone and driverless vehicle short-haul transport and urban delivery, exploring a “trunk-line cold chain plus last-mile drone delivery” model. Local smart equipment companies will be invited to take part, building up specialised cold chain market data and helping Nanjing gain an early lead in smart equipment. This approach aligns closely with Nanjing's low-altitude economy policy direction. Yuhu Cold Chain will use it to build a new “air-ground integrated” model for smart logistics, tackling industry pain points such as low last-mile efficiency, high cold chain losses, and difficult cross-hub coordination — contributing cold chain expertise to Nanjing's development as a low-altitude economy demonstration city.
Positioned as an end-to-end cold chain food service hub and urban supply base serving the Yangtze River Delta, Yuhu Cold Chain (Nanjing) Trading Centre covers 209 mu (approx. 13.9 hectares), with a total floor area of approximately 300,000 square meters. It sits adjacent to Xingang Avenue, around 30 kilometers from Nanjing Longtan Port, approximately 6.8 kilometers from the Ningluo Expressway toll station, and about 5 kilometers from the Nanjing Ring Expressway. The Xinshengyu Bridge in Nanjing began toll-free operation in December 2025, providing direct access to Jiangbei, southern Anhui, and central Jiangsu. The site is planned around four functional zones — international cold chain food trading, cold chain warehousing, integrated processing, and support services — making full use of Nanjing's role linking east and west, north and south. It marks a key step in the company's strategy to deepen its presence in the East China market and continue building out its nationwide fulfilment network.
The Nanjing site has been designated a National Landmark Major Foreign-Funded Project and a member of the Land Port-type National Logistics Hub. It has also been named a Jiangsu Provincial Key Project, a Nanjing Municipal Key Project, a Nanjing “peacetime-emergency dual-use” public infrastructure project, and a Key Agriculture and Rural Affairs Project of Nanjing City. In addition, it has received First-Grade (Three-Star) Green Warehouse certification and the Hong Kong Green and Sustainable Contribution Award.
