On February 3, Liu Qiang, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and Secretary of the CPC Jinan Municipal Committee, met with Huang Xiangmo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Hong Kong Yuhu Group, and his delegation at Jinan Long'ao Building. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges of views on project construction, platform connection, cold chain logistics, trading and commerce, and jointly witnessed the signing of the Investment Contract for Yuhu Cold Chain (Jinan) Trading Centre Project. This marks the official landing of this high-end cold chain trade and logistics platform that radiates North China and connects the whole country in Jinan, injecting strong momentum into Jinan’s effort to build itself into a Northern Commercial and Logistics Hub.
During the meeting, Liu Qiang extended a warm welcome to Huang Xiangmo and his delegation, and elaborated on the development advantages of Jinan and Shandong Province. He pointed out that Shandong is not only a major economic and agricultural province, but also a major maritime province, boasting abundant agricultural and seafood resources. Geographically, it connects the north and the south, and links the east and the west, endowed with inherent conditions to build a national-level logistics hub. Yuhu Cold Chain’s project is highly aligned with the strategic positioning of Jinan as a “Northern Commercial and Logistics Hub” assigned by the state, and is of great significance for enhancing the city’s livelihood security and strengthening the industrial chain value.
Liu Qiang emphasized that the CPC Jinan Municipal Committee and the Jinan Municipal People’s Government will provide full-process and all-round support for the project. During the construction phase, a special work team will be set up to implement a parallel advancement mechanism, complete the supporting infrastructure such as roads, water and electricity supply simultaneously, and ensure the project can start construction immediately upon land acquisition. At the policy level, the government will actively assist in applying for national-level logistics special fund support including central budgetary investment and special funds for cold chain logistics, and provide localized policies such as talent introduction and tax incentives. In terms of development orientation, it is expected that the project will give full play to its demonstration and leading role. By building an online-offline integrated cold chain food trading and fulfillment platform, it will drive the export of high-quality local products in Shandong, attract the agglomeration of national resources, and truly promote the upgrading and reconstruction of the cold chain logistics system in Jinan and even the whole northern region.
Huang Xiangmo expressed his gratitude for the efficient services and strong support from the governments of Jinan City and Shizhong District. He introduced that Yuhu Cold Chain (Jinan) Trading Centre is positioned as a high-end cold chain logistics and trade platform, focusing on products with high fresh-keeping requirements such as fresh produce and seafood, and building a full-industry-chain service system integrating trading, warehousing and distribution. Huang Xiangmo stated that Yuhu Group will give full play to its platform operation advantages, accelerate the improvement of the online trading system to realize data retention and online settlement, and actively attract local production enterprises of meat, vegetables, seafood and other products in Shandong to settle in. This will change the previous situation of relying on external platforms for cross-provincial sales, and enhance the added value of local industries and economic radiation capacity. The project will deeply integrate Shandong’s resource and location advantages, assist in fostering a new dual circulation development pattern, truly serve the high-quality economic development of Shandong, and contribute to Jinan’s construction of a “Northern Commercial and Logistics Hub”.
Both sides indicated that they will give full play to their respective advantages, deepen exchanges and connections on the basis of the sound cooperation in the early stage, actively expand the fields of cooperation, and achieve win-win development.
After the meeting, Meng Qingshun, Deputy Secretary and District Chief of the CPC Shizhong District Committee of Jinan, and Guo Limin, Chairman of Yuhu Cold Chain, signed the investment agreement on behalf of both parties.
